When providing feedback or additional information about the family tree consider the following:
All that said, don’t get too hung up on it. Tell me what you know as best you can and I’ll figure it out or call you.
- Clearest form of dates is Mon Day Year
- Month or Mon (spelled, not numbers)
- DD – two digits: 01,02…12,13…29,30,31
- YYYY – four digits preferred
- Examples: Jan 04, 1931; March 24, 2002
- Really double check your spellings (most common error)
- Cite your source
- A person? Who? Relationship to information being corrected?
- Official forms? Which ones?
- Personal knowledge? That’s fine, too.
- If correcting, itemize some of the information shown so I fix the right thing.
